Joe Weaver has been making charcoal commercially for the last ten years, a passion that started while doing his dissertation. He quickly became hooked and now supplies much of Bristol and the surrounding area with locally sourced, sustainably produced charcoal.
Working throughout the Wye valley as a coppice worker and across the south west as a woodland consultant, the material used to make Joe’s charcoal comes from the management of these local woodlands.
The production of Joe’s charcoal uses no additives to aid lighting and does not use illegally harvested tropical timber or slave labour.
“By buying UK produced charcoal you are supporting your local retailer, your local woodsman and the sustainable management of local woodland. It also makes your barbecued food taste nicer!”
