Stay in the Humble Hideaway shepherd’s hut at Humble by Nature. Turn off your phone, get away from the world and enjoy the great outdoors. Ideal for two, the Hideaway is only accessible on foot as it’s hidden in a fenced-off wooded glade surrounded by fields.

The Plankbridge Shepherd’s Hut is the cosy bedroom and the beautifully restored GWR Lamp Hut – used originally for storing railway lamps – is the neatly designed kitchen and shower room. The Hideaway is completely off-grid with solar powered electricity and a composting toilet.

Kick back and relax in the hammock and discover the delicious taste of wood-fired cookery when you light the fire pit. Don’t worry if you’ve never tried it before – it comes with outdoor cookware and a cookery book to get you going!

Don’t feel like cooking? The Pig & Apple does great burgers to eat-in, or takeaway from Thursday to Saturday evenings.

What our guests say..
  • The whole experience was great and so relaxing compared to busy city life, no phones, even the little things such as the wooden furniture, cooking with the kotlitch was so easy and made the nicest meal from the recipe book! 5 stars! Will defo be staying again!

  • We stayed for two nights as an added bonus to our sheep shearing course and what a fab treat the Humble Hideaway has been. Comfortable and peaceful!

    Claire & Jonny
  • It's peaceful, beautiful and we feel lucky to have come here. Every morning and evening we have cooked on the fire, sat there with wine and looked out at the beautiful surroundings. The happiest and most relaxed we have felt for a while!
