Willow Hurdles & Garden Screens

In this full-day willow weaving course you will make a section of willow hurdles. These willow hurdles make excellent decorative fencing: ideal for creating structure or screening within your garden; or use them in raised beds or borders. They will also give your climbing plants a beautiful, rustic structure to climb.
You will have the option to make a bigger panel sized 6’x4’, or (if you will struggle to get that home in your car) two smaller sections that can be joined together. You will use a variety of colours of willow and the techniques used are suitable for both beginners and those with some previous experience.
Amanda will explain the basic techniques of willow weaving before you get started.
Watch Amanda's demonstration then it's time to select your willow rods and start weaving your hurdles. Amanda will guide you through the stages throughout the day. You can have as much or as little help as you need.
The course will finish with tea and cake and the opportunity to ask any further questions.
Weave Willow Hurdles & Garden Screens will run from 10am until 4pm and includes a delicious farm lunch.
Weaving screens can be a physically demanding activity so a reasonable level of fitness is required.
We’ll provide all the materials for this course and at the end of the day you’ll take home your hurdles home.
If you can’t fit a large hurdle (6′ x 4′) in your car, you’ll have the option to make two smaller hurdles.
