Make a Green Wood Chair

Learn how to make a beautiful hand-made green wood chair from hazel grown locally in this green wood working course.
You will make this simple yet sturdy chair using simply a saw, drill and hammer. No wood working experience is necessary and you will be guided through the whole process.
The hazel poles are harvested using an ancient coppice technique and are completely sustainable. All wood will be provided, if you have a cordless drill please bring it with you. You’ll take your own unique chair home at the end of the day – don’t forget to make sure you have space in your car!
You'll discuss the basic shape and framework of a green wood chair before Maurice talks you through the process of chair making.
Every chair is different and equally beautiful - think about your design and how you will work with the hazel rods.
It's time to make your chair - Maurice will guide you through the process and give you as much or as little help as you need.
The course will finish with tea and cake and the opportunity to ask any further questions.
