Lino Printing Landscapes

Learn how to create lino print landscape pictures in this lino print making course, with Lee Wright an experienced printmaker and teacher.
Bring a favourite landscape image with you for inspiration. Your image will be built up in layers from one piece of lino using a technique known as reduction lino printing.

The January course will take inspiration from winter landscapes and colours, the June course from spring and the September workshop will be inspired by autumn.
This print making course is suitable for everyone from complete beginners to those who have done some print making before. Lee will give you as much assistance as you need, at each stage of the process.
Learn about the concepts of techniques of lino printing. Lee will talk you through the plan for the day before you begin creating your very own lino printed landscape.
Draw your image onto the lino then learn how to cut and print the first layer. Lee will offer as much or as little help as you need with this process.
You will work on planning, cutting and printing the second layer of the lino print.
Your masterpiece will come alive as you print the third and final layer.
The course will finish with tea and cake and the opportunity to ask any further questions.
A really enjoyable day with a very knowledgable and patient teacher.

Lino Printing Landscapes will run from 10am until 4pm and includes a delicious farm lunch.
We will provide all the materials you will need to create your lino printed landscape. This will include paper, lino, inks and all print making tools needed.
You should bring with you a simple landscape image (or images) as inspiration for your print. These should measure no more than 20x15cm.
We will be using water soluble inks, but you may get a little messy… so we suggest wearing old clothes or an apron.
Lino tools and materials will be available to purchase on the day if you’ve been inspired to keep print making at home.
