You’ll use the traditional style brick wood-fired oven as well as our Esse Fire Stone oven. Learn how to get the best from your own oven and how to cook plenty of delicious dishes.

This class is always sociable, great fun and a very hands-on learning experience. You’ll cook a lot of different dishes during the day and naturally, we have to try them all.
Learn about: different kinds of wood-fired ovens available; where to site them; how to light, maintain and control the fire; essential kit.
David will show you how to get the ovens hot, then you'll help to prepare and cook the variety of dishes on the menu today.
You'll finish by sitting down to eat together and have the opportunity to ask any further questions.
We have had such fun with our new found confidence. We no longer have cold oven issues! We tried a slow roasting a chicken and shoulder of lamb. Checked it this morning the smell was amazing as was the taste... we are now totally hooked.

Cooking on a Wood-Fired Oven runs from 10am until 4pm.
We’ll provide all the ingredients and you’ll cook on our Esse Fire Stone and traditional style brick wood-fired oven.
There will be plenty to eat throughout the day and you’ll finish with a sit down meal.
The course involves putting dishes in and taking them out of our wood-fired ovens, which will involve being near naked flames. Sandals and shorts are not recommended.
Please ensure you are wearing long trousers and your feet are fully covered by shoes.
This course will take place outdoors. Please check the weather for NP25 and bring either layers/ a waterproof jacket, or a sun hat/ sun cream, as appropriate.
