If you're thinking about keeping pigs, Humble by Nature’s expert teacher Bob Stevenson will teach you everything you need to know to get started:
- Which breed of pig is best for you & how much land you need
- Shelter/housing and feed needed to keep healthy pigs
- Pig behaviour and how it affects your land
- Pig admin: from getting CPH numbers to registering with Animal Health and breed societies
- Pig health, how to spot & deal with common problems early
- Considerations of how to slaughter and butcher a pig
- finding a good local abattoir and butcher
You will spend plenty of time with our wide variety of pigs: from Berkshires to Kune Kunes. Bob is an inspirational teacher - expect to get your hands dirty, but leave with the confidence to start keeping pigs of your own.
