On this two-day course you will learn how to make dry stone walls with plenty of practical hands-on experience.
From stripping out the wall and preparing the foundations, to building and packing, placing of thoroughbands, copestones and finishing. You will learn the fundamentals of dry stone walling and leave with the practical experience to build or repair your own walls at home or on your smallholding.
A good dry stone wall not only performs a practical function but is also beautiful to look at. Ken's walls certainly achieve both and we know his teaching style combined with hands-on practical experience will inspire many walls to come.
To make sure you get plenty of hands-on experience we have strictly limited the number of spaces on this course.
This is a two-day course, it will run from 10am - 4pm on Sat and Sun.
We will provide all the equipment required for this course but you will need to bring heavy weight gardening gloves to protect your hands and steel toe cap boots. This course is outdoors please check the weather for NP25 and dress appropriately.
Dry Stone Walling is physically demanding and not suitable if you are pregnant or have back problems.
The course price includes all your tuition, tea, coffee, morning treats, lunch and afternoon tea on both days. The price does not include accommodation, an evening meal on Saturday or breakfast on Sunday. You can either stay on the farm or our stay on the farm page lists lists places you can stay locally.
