This hands-on workshop will give you a great introduction into the world of wool spinning and natural plant dyeing.

In the morning you'll learn how to sort the fleece and card with hand and drum carders, before moving onto spinning and plying. There will be three different types of spinning wheels for you to try.

In the afternoon you'll cover the first steps in dyeing your own yarn, using foraged plant materials and store cupboard ingredients. You'll discuss the use of mordants to fix colours, scouring and the different colours that plants produce.

At the end of the day you'll take home yarn that has been hand spun and dyed.
