Practical Aquaponics: A Day in the Greenhouse

Course dates are yet to be confirmed but you can register your interest now by submitting our online enquiry form. As soon as dates are released we will be sure to notify you.

Spend a day getting to know the aquaponics systems on the Humble by Nature farm and learn more about successfully running a system at home.

Greenhouse Manager Beca will show you around the aquaponics solar greenhouse, the Edible Garden pond system and the mini aquaponics rig.  You'll learn about the basic principles of aquaponics; find out why we chose the systems used on the farm and how they work.

Beca will discuss how she has developed the crops, cultivation methods, sustainable mineral additives, sustainable fish foods, plant health, pest control and harvesting methods that suit our aquaponics greenhouse best. 

This day will have plenty of time in the greenhouse and the opportunity to discuss practical considerations for designing your own system at home.

Beca's lifelong love of gardening, growing food & passion for permaculture have led Beca to spread the joys of edible gardening. Beca has run the aquaponics solar greenhouse since it opened in 2014: building up practical experience and knowldege of what works well in an aquaponics system.
