If you're looking for something a bit different to the usual bouquet of flowers or box of chocolates, why not get your mum the gift of a day on the farm? There are plenty of great courses to choose from whether she likes crafts, is a bit of a foodie or likes having a go at making things.


Great for foodies - Wild Food Foraging with Liz Knight

Spend a day discovering the delicious wild treats hiding in the hedgerow. The summer course features nectar filled flowers, green seeds and flower buds. Once you've been out to collect them you'll return to the barn to make delicious produce like wild salsa verde or Oxeye daisy raita.

Get creative for crafty types - Cyanotype Print Making Learn how to make a cyanotype print - the original Victorian blueprint. Forage flowers and leaves from the garden or bring something in from home and create three or four small A6 prints and one larger A4 print. Guaranteed to look stunning on your wall at home!

Hands on with a hammer - Make a beautiful green wood chair in a day. This unique chair will be just as at home in the garden as inside and is sure to be a real feature. No wood working experience is necessary for this course.

A not so traditional bouquet - If you'd like to get flowers, then a morning on Summer Flowers with Catherine Gray Flowers is sure to please. Make a stunning hand-tied bouquet and vase arrangement with British grown seasonal flowers to take home.
