A cosy cottage for couples or families to enjoy the farm
Our 2017 aquaponics course dates have now been announced. We'll be offering three courses, read all about them below and follow the links to the course pages to find out more and book online.
Practical Aquaponics: A Day in the Greenhouse
Spend a day with Beca, our Greenhouse Manager, getting to know the systems here on the farm: the aquaponics solar greenhouse, the outdoor mini-rig and the cold water system in the Edible Garden.
This day will focus on Beca's experience of running our systems: you'll learn about the plants we grow, how we cultivate and harvest them; sustainable fish food; plant health and pest control.
Practical Aquaponics: A Day in the Greenhouse - Sunday 30th April 2017 - £105
Aquaponics: One Day Introduction
This one day introduction to aquaponics is taught by Aquaponics UK, who designed the aquaponics solar greenhouse on the farm.
It will give you a good basic understanding of aquaponics and you'll learn about the key principles of aquaponic farming and the essentials you need to get growing healthy food sustainably.
Aquaponics: One Day Introduction - Saturday 17th June 2017 - £105
Aquaponics: Five Day Intensive
The five day aquaponics course is taught by Aquaponics UK, who designed the aquaponics greenhouse on the farm.
This course is designed to give you the knowledge you need to start and run a system yourself. Learning is based in the classroom and the greenhouse, with practical hands-on sessions too.
You will start by getting to know the basics of aquaponics and learning about fish before looking at planting and maintaining aquaponics systems. You'll cover troubleshooting, closed loop aquaponics, commercial systems and the legislation and regulations involved in running an aquaponics business.
